Spatial interpolation of precipitation is an indispensable part of climatological studies. Therefore, a number of spatial interpolation techniques ranging from simple to the complex have been proposed predicting precipitation variables. In this book, the spatial pattern of Turkey's annual mean total precipitation was assessed using global and local interpolation techniques and tried to understand which one better reflected the spatial pattern of precipitation variable.

- Olgu Aydin is Associate Professor at Ankara University (Turkey), Faculty of Humanities, Department of Physical Geography. She is a geological engineer (2002, Ankara University) and also has M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Geography (2009, 2014, Ankara University). She worked at Center for Geographic Analysis, Harvard University as a research fellow (2007-2008).
