Laurie lives with Alzheimer's, and her daughter Amelia struggles to watch her mother fade. Desperate to preserve their bond, Amelia signs them up for an experimental procedure that merges Laurie's failing mind with Amelia's healthy body, blending their consciousness. As they adjust to their new life, they form connections with other participants and move to The Village, a rehabilitation center for those who've merged. But as time passes, they begin to question if everything is truly as it seems.
