    • The pre-adolescent stage is a very critical period for any child with respect to personality development. This is the time when the child begins to seek self-identity. This book, through clothing satisfaction determinants, explores the role of clothing in influencing perception of self-worth. The author argues that through symbolic interaction with significant others and the peer group, pre-adolescents seek to get the concept of their identity. She recommends that the pre-adolescents should always be involved in designing and selection of their clothing and they should never be forced to take clothing that they do not prefer. In this regard, the core knowledge of clothing influence on the pre-adolescents perception of self-worth is discussed. The book is quite resourceful to clothing and educational psychology scholars, fashion designers of children clothing, parents and policy makers regarding school uniforms.
