Culturally divergent concepts of disease often lead to conflicts between immigrants from the former Soviet Union and their German caregivers. With this study, the subjective view on diabetes mellitus of affected persons from the former Soviet Union and bilingual diabetes counselors involved in their care was surveyed. The findings are also profitable for new coping strategies.
